The Solaris Carbon Capture PCO Air Purifier, with an industry-leading three deep-bed TiO2+silver-infused activated carbon modules, removes air pollution far too small for filters to capture! It breaks down the molecules of toxic VOCs and odors while oxidizing airborne bacteria, viruses and allergens.
The Solaris photocatalytic (PCO) carbon-capture air purifier uniquely combines the technologies of a patented photocatalytic oxidation formula infused into three carbon panels which under UV light improve indoor air quality by adsorbing and breaking down indoor air pollutants that can be harmful and can trigger respiratory irritation!
- Odor and VOCs (volatile organic compounds): While the three activated-carbon panels reliably capture the molecules of odors and other toxins, the patented TiO2+silver/zinc PCO formulation infused into the activated-carbon under UV-C light, converts the pollutant molecules back into the normal components of fresh, clean air. The Solaris Air ionizer is an electronic air cleaner that reduces ultra-fine particulates and freshens the air by breaking down odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other chemical/molecular contamination.
The Solaris Ionizer makes it possible to remove the microscopic particles known as nano-particulates that would otherwise pass through filtration. These are particles so small and light they remain suspended in air, can evade normal breathing defenses and can enter the lungs and in some cases the bloodstream. When installed just before the filter, the microscopic particles are drawn into the HVAC system. The ionizer statically charges the particulate causing large groups of them to gather and be captured in the nearby filter.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), has endorsed and recommended the use of MERV 13 filtration as one method of minimizing the spread of bacteria and viruses. Taking MERV 13 to next level / increasing microbe destruction

Ionization causes nano-particulates of all kinds — biological and otherwise — to gather into stoically charged groups at a size easily captured in a MERV 13 filter. Further, the ions flowing into the filter itself disinfects the fibers for healthier air and safer filter changes.
Layered air filter design collects particles—large to small—through the entire thickness of the filter, instead of simply piling debris up on the leading edge.
- Solaris 5" pleated filters start with high efficiency and maintain it evenly over the life of the filter, reducing maintenance.
- Electronic filters start with good efficiency but gradually lose it as the collectors become loaded. These filters require frequent cleaning.
- Standard 1" “Furnace filters” start with low efficiency and quickly fill which actually makes them very efficient but also causes a sharp rise in air flow resistance.
